honorable mention
The last project of the year was to create a concept and a few designs for a mobile game to enter the Google Play Change the Game Design Challenge competition in mid-May. Upcoming Junior, Hayley Collins, was contacted by Google Play to highlight her game as Honorable Mention! Her game was also featured in a gallery amongst the chosen contestants from the competition.

Kathryn boyer chosen
as ESSA state logo winner
High school students across the state were given the opportunity to design a logo to be featured on the program cover and other conference materials for the 2018 ESSA Directors Institute.
Out of 60 logo designs, Academy Junior, Kathryn Boyer’s logo was chosen as the winner! They were so impressed with the high quality submissions that they will be featuring all of the submitted logos in a slideshow throughout the conference.

Congratulations to Kyndall Waller, who was chosen by the Tennessee Department of Education as the winner of the EPSO (Early Post Secondary Opportunities) Week Logo Competition. This is a high honor, as entries were accepted from across the state of Tennessee! Kyndall was even awarded with a CMCSS Point of Pride at the monthly school board meeting.
Janine Martin, Katie Boyer, and Erin Kennedy also had logos in the final stage of selection. All
of these students are part of our Academy of Media Arts & Technology, so we are proud that they are representing Rossview
on a state level!
Kayla Gore
finalist for
TDCTE Logo
Congratulations to sophomore Academy student, Kayla Gore, for being recognized as a finalist in the statewide Tennessee Directors of CTE logo competition. Kayla was one of four finalists, and won $250 for the Digital Arts and Design program at Rossview High School!
Kayla was even awarded with a CMCSS Point of Pride at the monthly school board meeting.
rossview amat entries win big at the 2017 Riverfest Art Experience
Rossview had an impressive showing in the Youth Division of the Riverfest Art Experience, taking home a total of five awards.
Spencer Brooks placed 1st in 2d Mixed Media with his detailed depiction of Stark’s Hideaway which was drawn by hand, then illustrated digitally. Junias McLauchlan took 2nd place in drawing with her flawless pencil portrait of Evan Peters.
In Photography & Digital Media, Khloe Chavez placed 1st with her warm toned, digital painting entitled ‘Familiarity’. And finally, Hayley Collins brought home double the reward for her showstopping, digital illustration of Millie Bobby Brown which was recognized with 2nd place in the Photography & Digital Media category, and was also awarded Best in Show for the entire Youth Division!
Other entries included work by Leah Keatts (Young George Harrison, 2d Mixed Media), Tristan Smith (Dewy Rose, Photography & Digital Media), Sandra Lee (Lurking, Photography & Digital Media), Elizabeth Crouse (Butterfly, Photography & Digital Media), Katie Boyer (Photography & Digital Media), and Tristan Murray (Hot Chocolate Tour, Photography & Digital Media).

Khloe Chavez, 9th grade AMAT student, submitted a winning design for the program cover of the 2017 Institute for CTE Educators!
Her design will not only be featured on the program cover at the conference in Nashville, TN, but she will also receive a $1000 scholarship to the
Tennessee public
post-secondary school of
her choice upon enrollment.
